A new leader takes charge, Part III

(Brendan Dillon)

Brendan thought long and hard and let out a breath. "Well, you are right about some of it," he said to Bevin, "but just because The True Religion is correct doesn't mean all others aren't. Remember when we met Allah and he helped us defeat the Canadians?" [Note: okay, this isn't supposed to happen for another four hundred years, but BFD.] "The only difference between us and other religions, as far as knowing what is religiously correct and all that, is that we believe in the Duct Tape rank of god."

"Yeah," Bevin said, "but what does that have to do with destroying AOL?"

"This isn't a genocide campaign, Bevin. But we must help Netscape to escape from the evil AOL hordes. Ever since AOL invaded Netscape, the internet has become filled with more and more evil every day. It is now almost entirely controlled by AOL and Microsoft, and we can no longer rely on them to destroy each other, not when both have become so powerful. Not until Netscape is free and protected from the grasp of evil will we allow AOL to operate normally again. Hell, what's the point of having people within our own ranks on AOL as spies, taking all that trouble to get them in such a position, if we destroy them altogether?"
