Since the Commander of the Army outranks the Secretary of Defense, control over the Army is a very confusing ordeal which I won't bother going into right now.

The Oligarchy Army has had a significant role in the Oligarchy's rise to power, and many Army units have been instrumental in various crises. Some of the most notable contributors are listed below.

• The 42nd Army Division defended Oligarchy interests against Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien during the Battle of Paris. (Hail to the Oligarchy, Part II)
• The 3rd Battalion, 189th Infantry Div. was the first unit to exchange fire with forces of the National Socialist Republic of America Online during the AOL War.
• The 1st Mosquito Combat (MosCom) Group was established by Brendan himself, and is stationed in Bosnia as part of the DNRC border observation force. 1st MosCom defended Oligarchy forces from an attempt at biological warfare during the AOL War.
• Fort Hood, Texas was a major Army base until it was destroyed by a nuclear missile during the AOL War.
• The 14th Special Forces Group invaded a Canadian outpost in deep space during the Québeçois Incident. (Hail to the Oligarchy, Part III)
• The 805th Military Police Company captured Norman the Elf and Matthew Pulley in Afghanistan during Norman's Rebellion.

Department of the Navy:

The Oligarchy Marine Corps and Coast Guard fall under the authority of the Navy Department, but are usually autonomous.

Also in the Navy are the Oligarchy Navy SEALs who can't swim, commanded by Bob Doughboy.

Department of the Air Force:

Department of Starfleet:

Primary outpost: Starbase 42

The USS Oligarchy One is the flagship of the Oligarchy Starfleet. This starship is often commanded by the Co-Rulers of the World themselves.

Another notable Starfleet vessel is the scout ship Ned Gerblansky, which discovered a deep-space Canadian outpost in Hail to the Oligarchy, Part III, leading to the Québeçois Incident.

Friendly forces:

There are a number of civilian organizations which have supported the Oligarchy in times of need. Most of these groups are not controlled by the Oligarchy, but are considered strong allies.

• The Kamikaze Peep Squad is a group of rogue Usenet posters, some of whom are also Oligarchy members. The Oligarchy Peep Contingent, a division of the KPS, is jointly run by the Oligarchy and KPS.

• The Brokaw Team is a band of superheroes, led by Tom Brokaw and an alien named Little Bob. The team captured Saddam Hussein during the Canadian War. (Hail to the Oligarchy)

• The Pocket Shuttlecraft is Co-Ruler of the World Cronan Thompson's personal vehicle of choice. Originally built by the Oligarchy Starfleet, Cronan requisitioned it for personal use, along with his imaginary elf, Norman. The Shuttle won a decisive victory during the Canadian War (Hail to the Oligarchy), and supported the Army during the closing battle of the AOL War.

• The Canadian Resistance is an underground movement to overthrow the Canadian government. Members of the Resistance defeated Jean Chretien in the Battle of Paris. (Hail to the Oligarchy, Part II)

• The Netscape Liberation Army is a group of former employees of Netscape Communications, who formed a resistance group after Netscape was violently occupied by America Online. The NLA is led by Col. Martin Schuler, a former vice president of Netscape. The Netscape Liberation Army supported Oligarchy forces throughout the AOL War.

• Paul's Army of Drunken Rednecks is a subsidiary of Death Inc. and report directly to Prophet Verstüken-Class Paul Pulley.
